A local's guide

Visiting Port Credit

Mississauga's village on the lake — a walkable stretch of waterfront parks, patios and festivals where the Credit River meets Lake Ontario. Here's how to make a day of it, from someone who's on Lakeshore Road every day.

Port Credit is the most charming corner of Mississauga's shoreline: a historic harbour village of marinas, green space and independent shops, all within an easy walk of the water. Whether you're here for a lakeside stroll, a waterfront dinner or one of the summer festivals, plan to linger. And when it's time for something sweet, that's where we come in — Leonidas Port Credit is the village's home of authentic Belgian chocolate, house-made gelato, coffee and rare organic teas, right on Lakeshore Road East.

Waterfront Trail

Walk or cycle the lakeshore path that threads through the parks and along the water in both directions.
